26 December, 2022 - 29 December, 2022
INTRODUCTION:
The Sindh Innovation, Research, and Education Network (SIREN) working under the auspices of the Government of Sindh, and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) is organizing 1st National Hybrid Workshop entitled, “Method Development by HPLC and HPLC Troubleshooting” to be held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, in collaboration with Sindh Innovation Research and Education Network (SIREN), during December 26-29,2022.
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the most commonly used analytical tool in R&D laboratories for the separation, identification, purification, and quantification of compounds. The technique has wide application in the field of pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, agricultural products, cosmetics, polymers and synthetic materials, and environmental studies.
This hands-on training workshop is organized to provide a platform for post-graduate students and researchers in the applications of HPLC for molecular diagnostics and isolation of various compounds, peptides, and protein.
The participants of the workshop will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of analysis by HPLC, as well as gain experience in techniques involved in the preparation of samples and running conditions of the HPLC with the appropriate columns, solvents and detectors. In addition to this the participants will also learn how to troubleshoot the problems encountered when running the HPLC system.
LECTURE DELIVERY:
This workshop is organized by the Sindh Innovation Research and Education Network (SIREN) and is coordinated by the HEJ, ICCBS, University of Karachi. It will be conducted onsite on campus, and through the video conferencing setup of the SIREN. For video Conferencing parameters are: [email protected]
AIMS AND SCOPE:
· To understand the key parameters of analytical technique i.e., HPLC.
· To understand the key parameters of analytical method development using the chromatography techniques which are used for the identification, separation, purification, and quantitative estimation of complex mixtures of organic compounds.
· To be able to find solutions for problems encountered when running HPLC analysis by diagnosing symptoms and implementing appropriate preventative measures.
This hybrid workshop will provide an introduction to the methods and tools used in modern analyticsl chemistry. It is designed for attendees who have fundamental knowledge of analytical chemistry. Topics include introduction to HPLC instrumentation, method development, analysis of small molecules and proteins via HPLC, and HPLC troubleshooting. Hands-on exercises on these techniques will be provided during the workshop.
TARGETED PARTICIPANTS:
This hybrid workshop is designed for attendees of sciences background, with fundamental knowledge of chemistry.
Participation is open for researchers from academia, and R&D institutions.
