19 August, 2022 - 20 August, 2022
Introduction
The National Facility for
Laboratory Animal Research and Care (NFLARC), International Center for Chemical
and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), in collaboration with Sindh Innovation
Research, and Education Network (SIREN), is organizing a series of lectures and
workshops aimed to provide practical training to students and researchers to
build capacity in handling small Laboratory Animals (SLA). In this context, it
gives me an immense pleasure to invite you to the 1st workshop of this series
entitled, “Techniques in Small Laboratory Animal Handling”, during August 19
and 20, 2022.
In biomedical research,
experiments on SLA are routinely conducted which help researchers to device
strategies for the advancement of human and animal health care. This indicates
that the validity of scientific data largely depends upon the quality of the husbandry
offered to these animals, along with expertise of the researchers performing
the experiments. Attention to the principles of adequate animal husbandry and
personnel training for appropriate experimental techniques is therefore
important to achieve maximal benefit from laboratory animal use, and for
assuring appropriate ethical conduct.
I hope this two-day workshop will
help the participants to develop expertise in experiments involving SLA.
Lets spread the l
knowledge together
