Ph.D. Level Hybrid Course (01 Credit-hours) “Introduction to Computational Biology and Bioinformatics”

INTRODUCTION:

The course will be organized by the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) in collaboration with the Sindh Innovation, Research, and Education Network (SIREN) at University of Karachi.  

Lectures / courses and SIREN programs are relayed nationwide in various universities and other HEI online. Everyone eligible is welcome to register, attend and get benefit from this important and innovative program.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is 1 credit hour course for Ph.D. students that will include detailed learning about computational biology.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

The students will be enabling to understand the computational biology, especially who intend to work in the field of bioinformatics but lack basic concepts in this domain. This course will enable students to understand the basic concepts in computational Biology and design certain research approaches at beginner level.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ?

The students much have the following prerequisites for better understanding of the course contents:

 Basic information on computational field.

  Computer modeling tools knowledge.

  English language as technical language.
