INTRODUCTION:

The Sindh Innovation, Research, and Education Network (SIREN), working under the auspices of the Government of Sindh and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), is organizing a hybrid course (1-credit hour) entitled “Principles of Clinical Research; Basic Understanding”. Research scholars, students, scientists, and faculty of SIREN-affiliated universities are cordially invited to attend this important course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

·         Understanding the basic concepts of Clinical Research.

·         Learning major guidelines, Clinical Trial Design, and Drug Development Process

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Dr. Naghma Hashmi has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of clinical research.  Trained from abroad (Jordan) and has vast knowledge and experience of conducting clinical trials for national and International clients, these trials are registered on ClinicalTrial.gov. Dr. Naghma Hashmi has successfully supervised a number of Bioequivalence/ Pharmacokinetic studies, and other Phase I and II clinical trials. She organized and attended a number of conferences and seminars. Defended the research protocols for IRB/IEC and regulatory approval. She has conducted pre-clinical/toxicological studies as well. She has provided training to a number of individuals in the field.
