INTRODUCTION:
The Sindh Innovation,
Research, and Education Network (SIREN) working under the auspices of the
Government of Sindh, and the International Center for Chemical and Biological
Sciences (ICCBS) is organizing a lecture entitled, “Robotics for Environmental
Monitoring: From Underwater to Aerial”. All research scholars, student
scientists, and faculty of universities are cordially invited to attend this
important lecture.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Prof. Dr. Francesco
Maurelli is a Professor in Marine Systems and Robotics, and Chair of the
Robotics and Intelligent Systems (B.Sc. program) at Constructor University,
Germany. He is originally from Italy. He has obtained a Ph.D. at Heriot-Watt
University, Edinburgh, Scotland, with a thesis focused on intelligent
localisation of autonomous underwater vehicles; and was a Scientific Manager at
the Technical University of Munich. After a stay at CSAIL MIT as a Research
Fellow in Cambridge, USA, he accepted a faculty position in Bremen, impressed
by the internationality of the campus and the curiosity and excellence of the
students. Other than his scientific career, he likes to play the piano and
speak the international language Esperanto with friends all over the world.
