LABORATORY SAFETY AND SECURITY

INTRODUCTION:

The Sindh Innovation, Research, and Education Network (SIREN) working under the auspices of the Government of Sindh, and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) is organizing a hybrid course (01 credit hour) entitled, “Laboratory safety and security”. All research scholars, student scientists, and faculty of SIREN universities are cordially invited to attend this important course. For video Conferencing parameters are: [email protected].

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Student anticipating work in a chemistry laboratory should need to learn basic safety principles before working in lab. During laboratory work as a student and as a professional, you are expected to know:

 INSTRUCTOR’S BIOGRAPHY:

Khalid Latif carries over 30 years of experience at leadership positions in multi-national Companies including Hoechst, Schering Rhône-Poulenc and Bayer. He earned a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from University of Karachi. Participated in various professional training courses and medium-term assignments/project from manufacturing facilities of parent companies in Europe and Asia-Pacific countries.

Mr. Latif attended professional courses and management trainings for various institutions including Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan Institute of Management, American Management Institute, Institute of Business Management etc.

During his professional career, he achieved success in lowering cost and improving delivery of products to the customer using moderns Supply Chain concepts including JIT, QOTIF, VMI, Vendor Development and Evaluation on the basis of their cost and efficiency, HSE & Manufacturing Excellence projects. Under University-Industry interaction seminar series, he delivers lectures on various technical and social subjects including Health Safety & Environment, Career Counselling, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Development and Processional Integrity at multiple institutions in Pakistan.

TARGETED PARTICIPANTS:

          This course is mandatory for all laboratory personnel including but not limited to:
