INTRODUCTION: The Sindh Innovation, Research, and Education Network (SIREN), working under the auspices of Government of Sindh, and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), is organizing an online workshop entitled, “Machine Learning based Evaluation of Medical Imaging”.
OBJECTIVE:
To provide comprehensive knowledge on the application of machine learning in health sciences.
To discuss advanced mathematical/statistical techniques for application of data for automated diagnosis of diseases.
To discuss the potential application of AI in, digital pathology, personalized medicine, and automated medical image analysis.
SPEAKER PROFILE:
Dr. Sarim Ather
Dr. Sarim is a Radiology Fellow at the Oxford University Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, UK. He has completed his PhD in neuroimaging, and has a keen interest in application of digital technologies in health care. At the University of Oxford, Dr. Sarim works with a multidisciplinary groups, including data scientists and computer vision experts to develop, and validate radiology artificial intelligence algorithms in a range of disease areas from arthritis to lung cancer.
His roles has included spending time as a Topol NHS Digital Health Fellow, and an executive for the Junior Radiologist Forum at the Royal College of Radiologists. He has also served on the RCR Informatics, and the Quality Improvement committees.
